Itron Links With Smart Grid Communications Firm
Liberty Lake, Washington-based smart metering firm Itron disclosed Tuesday that the firm has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ambient Corporation, a provider of smart grid communications products. Itron said that the two firms will jointly market a "complete" suite of smart grid functionality to utility companies, and that Itron will integrate its OpenWay advanced metering application with Ambient's technology. Financial details of the MOU were not disclosed. Itron provides energy and water utilities with electronically accessible smart meters and related software.
