Amazon Ships Kindle PC Software
Seattle-based Amazon.com has shipped a new, PC application today called "Kindle for PC", which allows consumers to read the firm's electronic books on their personal computer. According to Amazon, the Kindle for PC software is available for free, and allows users to download Kindle books from its store. The new software means that Kindle books are now available on Amazon's Kindle and Kindle DX, Apple's iPhone and iPod touch, as well as PCs. The firm said the app is aimed at both owners of Kindle and the Kindle DX, and also for people interested in reading Kindle books even if they don't yet have a Kindle.
