Former Amazon EC2 Execs Target Cloud Computing
Two executives out of Amazon's Web Services group have launched a new startup today to compete with Amazon EC2, with backing from Sequoia Capital and VMware. According to
Nimbula
, which is headquartered out of Silicon Valley, it is developing a new, "comprehensive" cloud computing operating system, to be launched sometime in the fall. The new startup is headed by Chris Pinkham and Willem van Biljon, both of whom worked on Amazon's EC2 infrastructure in South Africa. Pinkham was a VP of Engineering at Amazon.
