Amazon Web Services, the web services arm of Amazon.com, reported this morning that it has launched a new service called
AWS CloudFormation. Amazon said the new service will allow developers and businesses to create "collections" of related AWS resources in an orderly and predictable fashion. The new service allows for bundling of a number of related Amazon web services--including EC2, Elastic Load Balancer, Elastic Block Store, Amazon Relational Database Service, and so forth--in a predictable way via a template. The new service, which is free, helps develops avoid issues with infrastructure setup which occur when using multiple Amazon web services in a single deployment.
