Tier 3 Gets $8.5M
Seattle-based Tier 3, a developer of software-as-a-service platforms, announced this morning that it has raised $8.5M in a Series A funding round. The round came from Ignition Capital and Madrona Venture Group. As part of the funding, Ignition's John Connors and Madrona's Matt McIlwain will join the firm's board of directors. Tier 3 said it is developing "platform as a service" infrastructure for the enterprise. The firm provides cloud-based infrastructure, including hardware resources, to enterprises deploying applications. Tier 3 is headed by Adam Wray.
