Seattle-based Amazon.com said today that it is expanding a fulfillment center it has in Phoenix, Arizona, and has plans to build a new, 400,000 square-foot expansion to its existing facility in that city. Amazon said the expansion will grow that facility to more than 1 million square feet in size, one of its largest fulfillment centers in North America. Amazon already operates two other facilities in Phoenix. The expansion appears to be part of a huge expansion push for Amazon, which has been heavily recruiting in six states and new fulfillment centers in both Washington State and Indiana announced in the last few weeks.
