PopCap Games Acquired By EA For $750M

PopCap Games
has been acquired by
EA
, in a deal worth $750M. EA said that it will pay $650M in cash, plus up to $100M in shares of EA common stock, plus additoinal cash based on milestones. PopCap is the maker of popular casual games like Plants vs. Zombies, Bejeweled, and Zuma. The amount is somewhat less than the rumored $1 billion that EA was expected to acquire PopCap. PopCap has been looking for a buyer since June.
