Liberty Lake, Washington-based Itron, the maker of smart utility meters, reported today that it has acquired a line of technology from C&N Engineering. The firm said C&N's GasGate technology will add remote gas shut-off capability to its product portfolio. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced by Itron. Remote gas shut-off technology is used in emergency and potentially hazardous conditions. Itron said it will integrate the technology with a line of its products for gas network and mobile systems customers in North America.
