AppFog, the provider of a platform-as-a-service for PHP and other web applications, said today that it has added two new, third party service providers as partners. The firm said it has added ClearDB, a cloud-based database service, and CloudMailin, a software app to help developers receive email within their web apps, to its program. AppFog's platform-as-a-service is used to deploy applications in the cloud, which makes it easier for developers to deploy applications in the cloud. The platform supports PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, Node.js and Perl. The company is venture backed by Ignition Partners, Madrona Venture Group, First Round Capital, and the Founders Co-Op, among others.
