Amazon Ties Into Eucalyptus
Seattle-based Amazon is extending its efforts into the enterprise data center today, with a deal with hybrid cloud management software firm Eucalpytus Systems. The firm said today that Amazon will use Eucalyptus to allow enterprise customers to migrate their web applications between Amazon AWS and their own IT environments. Details of the deal were not disclosed. The move looks to be one of the first public endorsements of the so-called "hybrid" cloud computing technique for Amazon, where customers deploy both their own cloud resources as well as tap Amazon's public cloud.
