Opcode, the developer of cloud infrastructure automation software which is based in Seattle, has linked with cloud hosting provider
Rackspace, the two said this morning. The companies said that Rackspace is delivering Opscode Chef with its new Rackspace Private Cloud Software, allowing its clients to install, test, and run OpenStack-based private clouds easily. Financial details of the link between the two companies were not disclosed. Opscode's Chef software helps automate the set up of cloud servers, by managing configuration of software via pre-set "cookbooks". The firm is venture backed by Ignition Partners, Battery Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
