Mobisante Debuts Tablet-based Ultrasound

What do you get when you cross a tablet PC with an ultrasound system? Redmond-based medical imaging systems developer Mobisante has rolled out a tablet-based, ultrasound imaging system, which it says lets healthcare providers conduct ultrasound procedures using a tablet-based mobile system. The firm, headed by Sailesh Chutani, said its new MobiUS TC1 ultrasound system is being aimed at emergency departments, clinics, rural and community hospitals, disaster relief organizations, and the uniformed services. The startup is an offshoot of Microsoft Research, and Washington University at St. Louis; Chutani previously headed up research at Microsoft, and also was involved in Microsoft's Web TV business.
