Mpire Adds SideStep CEO To Board

Online meta-shopping service Mpire announced Tuesday that Rob Solomon, president and CEO of Sidestep.com, has joined Mpire's board of directors. The company also said it has hired Sean Crotty as vice president of product marketing. Prior to joining Sidestep.com in January 2006, Solomon spent six years at Yahoo!, where he served as vice president and general manager of the company's shopping group. Mpire said Crotty will oversee Mpire’s affiliate relationships and widget distribution strategy. He has previously worked for Art.com, eBay, Apple, Silicon Graphics, General Electric and Blaze Software, Mpire added. Seattle-based Mpire is a meta-shopping service that brings together thousands of online stores and marketplaces, such as eBay, Amazon, Shopping.com, Target, WalMart and Gap.
