Seattle-based NanoString Technologies Inc., a developer of molecular-tagging technology, reported Tuesday that it has hired Alan Dance as its chief commercial officer. NanoString described Dance as an industry veteran with more than 24 years of corporate development, sales and marketing experience. Prior to joining NanoString, Dance spent eight years at micro-array manufacturer Affymetrix, where he most recently served as senior vice president of business development. Before Affymetrix, he spent nine years with Amersham Pharmacia Biotech and eight years with NEN Products Dupont Ltd.
