Nathan Myhrvold, the billionaire owner of Seattle patent licensing firm Intellectual Ventures, has had plenty of success, having made his fortune as the Chief Technology Officer at Microsoft, and commanding a (somewhat controversial) storehouse of major patents. However, add that to your list: award winning cookbook author. Myhrvold was just given a James Beard Award for Cookbook of the Year, for his book, "Modernist Cuisine: The Art and Science of Cooking." The award was given Friday.
