![]() Wednesday, May 21, 2008 MathStar Hires Investment Bank, Looks Towards A Sale Hillsboro, Oregon-based semiconductor firm MathStar said Wednesday afternoon that it has decided to engage an investment banker to "explore strategic alternatives." The firm did not provide further detail in its efforts to find a buyer. The firm did not say which investment bank the firm has hired. MathStar is a developer of programmable logic. The new Web 2.0 site is focused on connecting women in a social network focused on shopping, clothing, and accessories. Farecast, the online airline fare prediction and travel booking site acquired by Microsoft in February, relaunches as Live Search Farecast. Live Search Cashback will offer ad-funded cash rebates to customers who buy products through the firm's search site, and is the result of Microsoft's October 2007 acquisition of shopping site Jellyfish. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Expedia noted that, not only is this the first agreement between the two companies, it is also the first distribution transaction involving all of Sol Melia's global properties, which will be listed on Expedia.com and hotels.com.
