![]() Monday, June 23, 2008 Immune Design Scores $18M Seattle-based vaccine company Immune Design said Monday that the firm has raised $18M in a Series A financing. The round was co-led by Alta Partners, The Column Group, and Versant Ventures. Immune Design is developing novel technologies focused on creating new vaccines for infectious diseases. The new firm is headed by Steven Reed, Ph.D. Immune Design says that it expects to have vaccines in clinics within 12 months using its technology. posted on Monday, June 23, 2008 (More)(Full story) Redfin Hit By Data Center Fire Over Weekend Seattle-based real estate web site Redfin lost its service Saturday morning, due to a fire in the data center which the firm uses to host its web servers, the company said over the weekend. The fire, which according to a Redfin spokesperson did not damage any of its servers, caused the shut down of the company's web servers between 5 am and 10am on Saturday, when the fire department shut down power to the data center. According to Amazon, it is offering more than 500,000 products for the segment. The new office products store is a new department on the firm's web site, and offers products from such brands as Avery, Hammermill, Papermate, and others. Earlier this year, Digimarc agreed to sell its ID Systems business for some $263 million in stock and cash to L-1 Identity Solutions Inc.
