 Tuesday, June 24, 2008 PopCap Expands In Asia Seattle-based PopCap Games said Tuesday that the firm has expanded in the Asia/Pacific region, and appointed a new VP in Shanghai. PopCap, which develops casual video games, said that James Gwertzman has been promoted to VP of Asia/Pacific, and will direct its operations from Shanghai. San Franscisco-based Twitter, which runs a popular instant-messaging service, said that it raised a round which included Spark Capital and Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos' and his investment firm, Bezos Expeditions. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to the Cybercities 2008 report released today by the group, Seattle added 7,800 jobs for a total of 127,700 high tech employees in 2006, the largest job growth in the nation. Smilebox said the new application, which supports Mac OS X Leopard and OS X Tiger, grants Mac users an easy way to share their photos and videos.
