    Impinj Sells Non-Volatile Memory IP
    Seattle-based Impinj, a provider of RFID hardware, has sold off its non-volatile memory intellectual property business, in a deal worth $5.2M. California-based Virage Logic said it has acquired both Impinj's intellectual property, as well as approximately 30 former Impinj employees who were involved in the company's logic BVM IP business.     Avocent Cuts Redmond Staff
    Avocent Corporation, a manufacturer of hardware for managing IT environments, said Monday that the firm has "optimized" its operations and is cutting a number of staff, including functions in its Redmond, Washington offices. According to Avocent, it is cutting approximately 110 employees companywide as part of a workforce reduction and consolidation.     Visible Technologies Adds Former Microsoft Exec To Advisory Board
    Seattle-based Visible Technologies, a venture backed provider of social media monitoring tools for brands, has added Rowland Hanson to the company's advisory board, the firm said Monday. Rowland Hanson is CEO of The HMC Company and Chairman of CRH & Associates, and formerly was VP of Corporate Communications for Microsoft Corporation.     Expedia Corporate Travel Changes Name to Egencia
    Online travel booking agency Expedia Inc. reported Monday that its Expedia Corporate Travel business has changed its name and brand to "Egencia, an Expedia, Inc. Company." Expedia said the new brand signifies its commitment to the corporate travel space. The Bellevue, Wash.-based company said Egencia will continue to offer the services it did under the Expedia Corporate Travel label.     Attachmate Shops WinINSTALL Line to Scalable
    Seattle-based Attachmate has sold its WinINSTALL desktop management product line to Scalable Software Ltd., a publisher of IT asset lifecycle management applications headquartered near Houston, Scalable announced Monday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Scalable said more than 10,000 companies across the globe use the WinINSTALL software, which helps organizations deploy, update and manage software and security for desktops, servers and notebook computers.     Digimarc OKs $310M Cash Offer for ID Business
    A week after revealing that it was considering an unsolicited, $300 million offer for its ID business, Digimarc Corp. announced Monday that it has accepted a better offer from Digimarc's original suitor, L-1 Identity Solutions Inc. Earlier this year, Digimarc agreed to sell its ID Systems business to L-1 for some $263 million in stock and cash.     RealNetworks Debuts MP3 Store
    Seattle-based RealNetworks Inc., operator of the Rhapsody digital music service, revealed today that it has launched an online music store that will compete head-to-head against iTunes and other popular digital music retailers. RealNetworks said the Rhapsody-branded servic, will offer most of its songs for 99 cents and most of its albums for $9.99.     Whrrl Expands Phone Support, Adds Features
    Seattle-based Pelago, which runs the mobile social networking service Whrrl, announced Monday that it has added new support for a number of new phones. According to the firm, it now supports the BlackBerry World 8830, multiple Motorla RAZR models, and the Sunsung M610. Whrrl is an online social networking service for mobile phone users.
