    Rob Monster Backs Patents.com
    Rob Monster, head of Seattle-based venture capital firm Monster Venture Partners, has launched a new venture based in Virginia, focused on patents. Patents.com, which launched earlier this month, provides an online web site for searching and finding patents. According to the firm, it will allow users to search for patents in English, Japanese, and Korean, and is focused on helping scientists, engineers, and patent professionals find, buy, sell, and license patents.     Microsoft Inks IP Cross-Licensing Deal with Nikon
    Computing heavyweight Microsoft Corp. revealed last night that it has signed a patent cross-licensing agreement with Tokyo-based camera manufacturer Nikon Corp. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Microsoft did say that it is being compensated by Nikon. The Redmond, Wash.-based firm added that the agreement covers Nikon's digital cameras and a "broad range" of consumer products that each company manufactures and sells.     Delve Partners With PLYmedia
    Seattle-based Delve Networks has signed a partnership with PLYmedia, a provider of web video technology, the firm said this week. Delve Networks -- formerly Pluggd -- said that the two have teamed to integrate PLYmedia's services and tools into Delve's web video platform. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.     Daptiv Gets $9M
    Seattle-based Daptiv has scored $9M in a second tranche of Series B funding from Bay Partners, Kennet Ventures, and Silicon Valley Bank, according to reports. Daptiv develops business software used for managing projects and project teams, and previously raised $18M in two earlier rounds of funding. Daptiv was formerly known as eProject. The funding was first reported by VentureBeat.

    Talyst Promotes Corkern To CEO
    Pharmacy automation firm Talyst Inc. reported Wednesday that it has promoted Carla Corkern to chief executive officer. Corkern, who also sits on the Bellevue, Wash.-based company's board of directors, had been serving as interim CEO since May. Talyst said she joined the company two years ago as chief operating officer. Talyst described Corkern as an 18-year technology and supply chain management veteran.     Trumba Signs Seattle Seahawks
    Trumba Corp. revealed yetserday that the Seattle Seahawks professional football team has selected a Trumba application to help distribute its 2008-09 season schedule. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed.     Triquint Recognized By Customer
    RF module manufacturer TriQuint Semiconductor reported this week that it has received two awards from Northrop Grumman Corp.'s Electronic Systems division. TriQuint said it received the awards at the defense contractor's recent 2008 Supplier Conference. Specifically, TriQuint said it was recognized as a strategic supplier and for innovation in bulk acoustic wave technology.
