![]() Thursday, September 4, 2008 PopCap Extends License With EA Seattle-based casual games maker PopCap Games and Electronic Arts said today that the two have extended their licensing agreement for PopCap's popular Bejeweled game. According to the two firms, the agreement grants EA Mobile the exclusive worldwide mobile publishing rights to Bejeweled and Bejeweled 2 through 2010. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed, however, Bejeweled was the second best selling mobile game in North America in 2007, according to numbers cited from Nielsen Mobile. Open Text said one of its wholly owned subsidiaries will pay Captaris shareholders some $131 million in cash in exchange for Captaris stock—a sum that translates to $4.80 per share.
