    Airbiquity Names Marketing VP
    Seattle-based Airbiquity said earlier this week that it has hired Leo A. McCloskey as its Vice President of Marketing and Product Management. The firm, which provides vehicle telematics products, said that McCloskey joins the firm from IntelliTax, and has also served at Nexagent, Ebone, and Terabeam. The firm said McCloskey will head up marketing and product management for its automotive telematics, portable navigation device (PND) and fleet managem (More info...)

    Expedia's TripAdvisor Buys Chinese Travel Site
    TripAdvisor, the travel community owned by Bellevue-based Expedia, said Friday that it has signed a transaction to acquire Kuxun.cn, which it says is the second largest online travel web site in China. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Kuxun provides flight, hotel, and train booking services for the Chinese market. TripAdvisor said Kuxun.cn will continue to operate out of Beijing, led by its current management team.

    Onehub Gets $1.3M
    Bellevue-based Onehub, a developer of web-based collaboration software, reported Thursday that it has raised $1.3M in Series A funding. The round came from Ignition Partners and angel investors. As part of the funding, the firm said it has added Richard Fade, formerly of Microsoft; Doug Henrich, also formerly of Microsoft; and David Anastasi, formerly of Captaris, to its board.

    University of Washington Links With X Prize
    The Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington and nonprofit X PRIZE Foundation, the group which spearheaded the first competition to put the first commercial spacecraft into space, said this week that they are launching a new lab called the X PRIZE Lab@UW. According to the foundation and school, the new lab is focused on engaging students in areas "ripe for breakthrough innovation."     New Edge Networks Bolsters Sales
    Vancouver, Washington-based New Edge Networks, now a unit of EarthLink, said Thursday that it has hired on Mike Schonberger as its Vice President of Sales. Schonberger was most recently at Hyperquality, and also has served at National Cinemedia, Qwest Digital Media, Williams Conferencing, and Sprint. New Edge Networks builds and managing private, wide area networks for businesses.

    Pemco Technologies Acquired By Missouri Firm
    Seattle-based Pemco Technologies, a provider of technology and payment processing to the credit union industry, has been acquired by Missouri-based Jack Henry & Associates. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Pemco Technologies is a subsidiary of PEMCO Corporation.

    RealNetworks Names VP
    Seattle-based RealNetworks said Thursday afternoon that it has appointed Hank Skorny as its Senior Vice President, Media Cloud Computing and Services. Skorny has previously served as CEO of Thumbspeed, and also at InfoSpace Mobile, AOL Mobile, Adobe Systems, Microsoft, and Apple. The firm said Skorny has nearly 25 years of executive marketing, business development, and engineering experience.
