![]() Monday, November 2, 2009 Magic The Gathering Announced For PC, PS3 Renton-based Wizards of the Coast, a board game developer owned by Hasbro, is in a deal with Sony Online Entertainment to develop PC and Playstation 3 versions of a Magic: The Gathering title. According to Sony and Wizards of the Coast, they are developing Magic: The Gathering - Tactics, scheduled to be available for PCS in early 2010, with a version for the PS3 following. The new title will be an online, 3D, turn-based strategy game, and allow for player-to-player online tournament gami (More info...) posted on Monday, November 2, 2009(Full story) PlayNetwork Acquisition of Channel M Completes Redmond-based PlayNetwork has completed its acquisition of Channel M, the firm said this Monday, with the deal officially closing Friday. PlayNetwork said it would buy Channel M, a producer of in-store, TV content, on October 20th. As part of the acquisition, Peter Lee, former CEO of Channel M, joins PlayNetwork's board of directors. PlayNetwork is a producer of content for in-store, retail kiosks. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. posted on Monday, November 2, 2009(Full story) Amazon.com Completes Zappos.com Buy Seattle-based Amazon.com said this morning that it has completed its acquisition of Zappos.com, an online retailer of apparel and footwear. The firm had originally announced its acquisition of Zappos on July 22nd. The deal was worth approximately $807M in Amazon stock. Amazon said that the Zappos management team will remain intact, and will continue operating independently with its headquarters in Las Vegas. posted on Monday, November 2, 2009(Full story) Microsoft Ties With OpenX In Advertising Deal Microsoft is ramping its efforts to sign up customers of its Content Ads advertising product today, saying that it has partnered with ad serving firm OpenX. According to Microsoft and OpenX, they are in a deal where they will cross-market and promote products to their publishers. The companies said that customers of OpenX, who are using the OpenX Market or OpenX ad server, will be able to use Microsoft's Content Ads, and that Microsoft will also refer potential customers to OpenX.
