    Trubion Pharmaceuticals Shakes Up Execs
    Seattle-based Trubion Pharmaceuticals is in the midst of an executive shakeup, saying Monday that Peter Thompson, the firm's Co-founder, President, CEO, and Chairman, has retired to "pursue other interests." The firm said that Steven Gillis of ARCH Venture Partners, and a director on the firm's board, is now Executive Chairman of the Board and Acting President.     Cray Jaguar Fastest Supercomputer
    Seattle-based Cray said Monday that the firm's Cray XT5 supercomputer--nicknamed "Jaguar"--installed at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has been named the world's fastest supercomputer. Cray said the recognition came from the Top 500 list, which lists and ranks the top 500 supercomputer sites in the world on a monthly basis. Cray's XT5 provides more than two petaflops of compute power, and has more than 224,000 compute cores.

    Verdiem Wins Pittsburgh Medical Center
    Seattle-based Verdiem has added another customer for the firm's enterprise power management software, SURVEYOR, the firm said Monday afternoon. Verdiem said that the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is deploying the firm's product on more than 30,000 PCs, in an effort to reduce PC power consumption. Verdiem said it estimates more than $1M in annual energy savings from the deployment. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed.     Amazon Enhances Packaging Improvement Effort
    Seattle-based Amazon.com is enhancing its Frustration-Free Packaging program, the company's effort to improve packaging by its vendors, saying this morning that it has introduced a new certification program for those vendors. The firm said its Frustration-Free Packaging Certification Program makes it easier for its vendors to participate in the program, through free submission to its own certification lab.     DocuSign Gets Investment
    Seattle-based DocuSign, a developer of electronic signature software, said today that it has scored a strategic investment from Second Century Ventures. Amount of the investment was not disclosed. Second Century Investors is the venture capital fund of the National Association of REALTORS. Dale A. Stinton, the National Assocation of REALTORS CEO, has joined DocuSign's board along with the funding.     OVP Leads $30M Investment in Stem Cell Firm
    OVP Venture Partners has led a $30M investment in a San Diego, California firm focused on stem cell therapy, according to Fate Therapeutics. Fate said that OVP Venture Partners led the firm's latest, Series B funding round, and will be adding Carl Weissman to its board. Fate Therpauetics is developing stem cell treatments, including treatments for leukemia and lymphona.     Avnera Raises $8M
    Beaverton, Oregon-based Avnera, a developer of wireless semiconductors, has raised $8M in a financing deal, according to a regulatory filing by the firm last week. No details on the funding have been announced by the company. The filing indicates the company is raising $10M in a equity funding round. Avnera's chips are used for wireless audio and voice-over-IP.     Jive Signs Economics Organization
    Portland-based Jive Software has snagged another customer of its business social networking software, the firm said today, the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD). Jive said that the OEDC is piloting the use of Jive. Size of the deal was not disclosed. Jive said that the OECD is using Jive to outreach and deepend engagement with its external partners.
