Nick Hanauer Takes Issue With On-Demand, Part Time Labor Pay

Seattle venture capitalist Nick Hanauer--who is no stranger to controversy--is in a new push to help improve the lot of the new generation of part time, on-demand workers. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times this morning, Hanauer and fellow activist David Rolf talk about how they want both on-demand startups--as well as big, established companies like Starbucks and Walmart--to better pay part time workers, and provide better benefits. Hanauer has been campaigning for years to help boost the ranks of the middle class. Hanauer has invested in such Seattle companies as Amazon.com, Aquantive, Marchex, among many others, but has been campaigning against the growing disparity between rich and poor in this country.
