Ohloh Debuts Open-Source Community Web Site

Bellevue, Washington-based Ohloh revealed Tuesday that has launched a new Web site, www.ohloh.net, that connects contributors and users in the open-source community. Ohloh said the service, which is live, is the first social-networking site that links contributors and users of open-source software. The new site also helps users locate the ideal software for the open-source applications they already have, and combines a source-code crawler with community-generated content to provide its visitors with details about the thousands of open-source projects and the people responsible for them.
