Omeros Scores Research Grant

Seattle-based Omeros has scored a research grant from the Michael J. Fox Foundation, the firm said Tuesday, worth $465,000. The pharmaceuticals developer said that the grant is a part of an effort to treat Parkinson's disease with its compounds. Omeros said the grant funding will go towars testing the potential of its approach for treating patients living with Parkinson's disease. The firm said that it will collaborate with The Parkinson's Insisute on preclinical studies; thhe firm said that earlier studies have found its compound are as effective as current L-DOPA treatments for Parkinson's.
