Oregon Startup Fund At Risk

A small, $1.9 million seed investment fund, the Oregon Growth Fund--managed by the Oregon Growth Board--faces a shaky future, as it has been removed from the state budget, according to a report from the Portland Business Journal. According to the report, the Oregon legislature has removed funding from the state budget for the Oregon Growth Fund, which was included in the governor's proposal for a state budget, but in the framework being presented to the legislature. The fund apparently has been going towards local angel conferences and seed investment efforts, including funding efforts at TiE.
