Outback Power Ties With Sunrun On Renewable Energy Effort

Arlington, Washington-based solar battery and inverter provider OutBack Power and residential solar financing and installation provider Sunrun said this morning that the two are in a pilot, renewable energy storage program, which will help Sunrun customers go "off the grid". The new partnership ties OutBack Power's weather resistant batteries and inverters with home solar systems. The new program allows Sunrun's customers to operate off stored solar energy at night, instead of relying on grid power during the evening hours or cloudy days. Most of the solar power systems being installed today are grid-tied, meaning that they do not store solar power for use later, and are dependent on the existing power grid for power when those panels are not producing energy.
