Platial Buys Frappr

Portland, Oregon-based Platial, which provides online services that allow users to create maps, has acquired San Francisco-based Frappr, a competing online mapping service. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Platial is venture funded by KeyNote Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Caufield & Byers, Omidyar Network, Ram Shriram, Ron Conway and others. Platial announced a $2.4M Series A funding in March of this year.
