PlayFab Gets $2.5M

Seattle-based PlayFab, a startup which handles back end operations for game studios, said today that it has raised $2.5M in a seed funding round. The funding came from angels, including Jason Kapalka (PopCap), Scott Banister (IronPort), Larry Bowman (Bowman Capital Management), Chris Carvalho (Kabam), Patrick Wyatt (Arena.net), John Spinale, and Startup Capital Ventures. The company is a spinoff from Seattle's Uber Enteratinment. The company said it is focused on offering up the "best backend-as-a-service-for-games on the planet." More information »
