    PopCap Games Hires VP Engineering

Seattle-based casual video game developer PopCap Games reported Tuesday that it has hired Martin Gannholm as vice president of engineering. In the newly created position, Gannholm will report directly to David Roberts, the company's chief executive officer. PopCap described Gannholm as a 20-year veteran of the technology industry. Most recently, PopCap noted, Gannholm spent four years as a senior member of Microsoft Corp.'s business software division. He also co-founded a pair of Internet start-ups: Net-It Software and Allegis Corp. Prior to that, Gannholm began his career at an Apple Inc. localization facility in his native Sweden. He went on to work for Apple for 10 years, PopCap added.
