Puppet Labs Buys Cloudsmith

Portland-based Puppet Labs, which develops cloud deployment software, has acquired Cloudsmith, a developer of apps for creating and deploying software stacks to the cloud. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Cloudsmith develops Stack Hammer, a software-as-a-service app used by developers to software stacks, which is based on Puppet. Cloudsmith also developed an integrated development environment, Geppetto, based on the open source Puppet technology.
