    Recipezaar Acquired By Scripps


    Seattle-based Recipezaar, an online site focused on recipes and food, has been acquired by publisher The E.W. Scripps Company. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. E.W. Scripps is the operator of HGTV and Food Network. Recipezaar was founded in 1999 by Gay Gilmore and Troy Hakala. According to Scripps, Recipezaar had 2.3 million unique visitors in June, and will operate as a stand-alone brand within the firm's online properties.
