    Redfin Raises $12M In Funding


    Online real estate broker Redfin Corp. announced today that it has raised $12 million in Series C financing. Redfin said Draper Fisher Jurvetson led the effort, with previous investors Madrona Venture Group, Vulcan Capital, BEV Capital and The Hillman Company also participating. Redfin said it has secured a total of $20.8 million through three rounds of funding to date. The money, Redfin added, will go toward national expansion. In conjunction with the funding round, Redfin said that it is expanding into the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore areas, and has opened an East Coast headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia. Emily Melton of Draper Fisher Jurvetson will join the company's board as part of the funding. Redfin is headquartered in Seattle.
