Rentrak Buys Nielsen EDI

Portland-based Rentrak, which operates a service which measures movie, TV, broadband, and mobile advertising for the entertainment industry, said Tuesday that it has acquired Nielsen EDI, a unit of The Nielsen Company. Nielsen EDI provides information, measurement, and research for the motion picture industry. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Nielsen EDi will become part of Rentrak's AMI division.
