Report: Amazon Building Android Smartphone

A report last night from Bloomberg says that Amazon.com is working on an Android smartphone, and has already engaged electronics firm Foxconn International to build the device. According to the report, Amazon has been busy buying up patents to help defend itself against other mobile phone makers, in advance of introducing the device. Amazon has been rumored to be working on an Android smartphone for months, but until now no details of how far along the firm was on its efforts had been uncovered.
