Report: Clearwire Getting $1.5B Investment

The Wall Street Journal is reporting today that Sprint Nextel and others are preparing to put $1.5 billion more into Clearwire Corp., the Kirkland-based firm developing a WiMax-based, nationwide wireless network. The WSJ quotes sources "familiar with the matter" saying that Spring will invest $1B, with other partners in the joint venture investing another $500M into the company. Clearwire has not released any details of the funding.
