Rover Gets $3.5M, Partnership With Petco

Seattle-based online dog sitting marketplace Rover.com has raised $3.5M, in a funding round led by pet retailer Petco. According to Rover.com, the partnership with Petco will extend its services to Petco's pet community, with Petco promoting Rover across Petco's 1,300 petco stores, 50 Unleashed by Petco neighborhood stores, and online. Petco's Vice President of Business Development, Ted Root, join's Rover's board as part of the deal. Rover is also backed by Madrona Ventures, Foundry Group, Crunchfund, and Rolling Bay.
