Seattle Tops High Tech Cities List

Seattle has topped the list of companies with the largest high tech job growth in the nation for 2006, according to a recently released report from the AeA technology trade association. According to the Cybercities 2008 report released today by the group, Seattle added 7,800 jobs for a total of 127,700 high tech employees in 2006, the largest job growth in the nation. The report--which uses 2006 jobs data, the latest available--to rank the top cities with high tech employment, ranked Seattle 9th nationally in the nation for tech employment. Topping the national list were New York, Washington, DC, San Jose/Silicon Valley, Boston, and Dallas-Fort Worth.
