Socrata Scores $30M

Seattle-based cloud data software developer Socrata said this morning that it has raised $30M in a venture funding, the company's Series C. The new funding was led by Sapphire Ventures (formerly SAP Ventures), and also included existing investors OpenView Venture Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures and Frazier Technology Partners. The company says it has now raised a total of $55M in funding. Socrata's software is used to provide public sector data from cities and other governments to the public. As part of the funding, Sapphire's Jai Das will join the company's board. More information »
