SonoSite Buys Visualsonics




Bothell, Washington-based Sonosite announced today that it has agreed to acquire Visualsonics, a developer of ultra high frequency micro-ultrasound technology. The deal is worth $71M in cash and debt. Sonosite said that Visualsonics' technology has the potential to provide "extreme" high-resolution ultrasound imaging products. Visualsonics will become a wholly owned subsidiary of SonoSite. SonoSite was advised by GCA Savvian, Fenwick and West, and Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt in the deal.
