SourceClear Gets $1.5M For Security Software

Seattle-based SourceClear, a developer of software tools aimed at improving security, has raised $1.5M in a seed funding. The funding came from angels, including Justin Somaini (Box.com); Frank J. Marshall (Cisco Systems); Amos Michelson (Kardium); Mary Cirillo (Thomson Reuters); Kinzer capital; Realise Capital Partners; as well as others. The company was founded by Mark Curphey, who founded security software firm OWASP and headed the software security efforts at Charles Schwab. He also has extensive experience at Microsoft. The company's software crawls through source code and helps flag potential security issues for developers before that code is released, and as it is even being developed. More information »
