Spaceflight Industries Launches Imaging Satellite

Seattle-based Spaceflight Industries says it has successfully launched its first imaging satellite, the BlackSky Pathfinder, and started communications with its new satellite. The satellite was delivered to space via India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). Spaceflight Industries said the satellite launch is the first in its plans for a 60-satellite constellation which will provide high resolution (1-meter) imagery in real time, providing images in about 90 minutes for only $90. The company said it cost less than $7.5M to put that satellite into orbit. The satellite went into space from India on Sunday.
