    Illumita Raises $6M


    Seattle-based Illumita said today that it has raised $6M in a Series A funding. The round came from Madrona Venture Group, Ignition Partners, Bezos Expeditions, and the Washington Research Foundation. Illumita is developing virtualization technology spun out from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington. Illumita said the funding will help it accelerate product development and sales and marketing. In conjunction with the funding, the firm has appointed Steve Brodie as President, and Jonathan Weeks as VP Engineering. Brad Silverberg of Ignition and Sunny Gupta, who was founder and CEO of iConclude, have joined the board.
