    Mentor Graphics Purchases Ponte Solutions


    Wilsonville, Ore.-based Mentor Graphics Corp., a publisher of electronic hardware and software design applications, announced today that it has acquired Ponte Solutions Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., Ponte Solutions develops model-based design for manufacturing software that minimizes process variability during the manufacture and design of semiconductors. Mentor said Ponte's personnel and technology will be rolled into their corresponding departments within Mentor's Calibre DFM organization. Mentor added that Ponte's R&D team will remain in Yerevan, Armenia.
