Strands Acquires Social Money Site NetworthIQ

Strands, creator of a money-managing Web site, announced Thursday that it has acquired NetworthIQ.com, a personal finance Web site that allows people to track, share and compare their net worth. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Launched in 2005, NetworthIQ offers its users the ability to track their financial progress and anonymously share the results with other members of the community. The site was founded by Fourio, a Portland, Ore.-based startup. Strands is headquartered in Corvallis, Ore. Its social money management solution, moneyStrands, is currently in private beta testing and allows users to store their online financial information in one location. Strands is venture backed by BBVA, Debaeque, Grupo Zeta, and Sequel Venture Partners.
