    Clearwire, Spring Complete WiMAX Merger


    Kirkland, Washington-based Clearwire, and Kansas-based Sprint Nextel said Friday that the firms have completed their merger of their wireless Internet businesses. According to the firms, Sprint has sold all of its 2.5 GHz spectrum and WiMax-related assest to Clearwire, and Clearwire has scored $3.2B in investments from Comcast, Intel, Time Warner Cable, Google and Bright House Networks. The new firm will continue to be headquartered in Kirkland, and will operate under the name Clearwire. The firms had originally announced the merger in May.
