Seattle-based Marchex reported Thursday afternoon that the firm had a loss of $128.7M for the fourth quarter of 2008, on revenues of $34.8M, as the firm wrote down $177M in goodwill and intangible asset inpairments. The company said that its revenues were down from the $37.0M it reported in Q4 of 2007. Marchex provides online local advertising services. In discussing the results, the firm said that it "some of our customers are experiencing challenges with their businesses and balance sheets" due to the economic conditions, and because of that, it would not issue 2009 guidance numbers.
