    Dotster Sells Service To Sedo, Buys Hosting Firms


    Vancouver, Washington-based Dotster, which provides domain name registration, web hosting, and related services, said today that it has sold its domain monetization service RevenueDirect to Sedo. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Sedo operates an online marketplace for buying and selling domain names. Dotster said that it has also acquired EmailBrain and FortuneCity, two provider of marketing and hosting. The details of those acquisitions were also not announced. RevenueDirect was a domain name parking and monetization service, where domain name owners (known in the industry as "domainers") could park their domains and display advertising.
